Liebe Leserinnen, liebe Leser,

dies ist ein Portrait von Kim Struve. Ihr Blog trägt den Titel "Sichtbar". Sie studiert Grafikdesign in Lübeck und sie zeigt auf "Sichtbar" ihre Designs und Entwürfe. Kim ist vielseitigt talentiert und hat bereits mit 21 Jahren ein eigenes Buch mit dem Titel "Spiegelwesen" veröffentlicht. Hier geht´s zum Verlag.

This is a portrait of Kim Struve. Her blog is called "Sichtbar" (visible). She studies graphic design in Lübeck and shows her designs and artworks on "Sichtbar". She is a creative all-rounder and at the age of 21 she published her first book called "Spiegelwesen" (mirror creature). Here you can find the publisher.

Portrait 2.0.8 - Matthew

Liebe Leserinnen, liebe Leser,

lasst mich Euch voller Stolz Matthew Ivan Cherry präsentieren, den ich soeben in Öl portraitiert habe!

Matthew ist ein außerordentlich guter und etablierter Portraitkünstler aus Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Er portraitiert Menschen in lustigen Kostümen, mit Irokesen-Haarschnitt oder auch unbekleidet. Ich habe mich entschieden, ihn ebenfalls unbekleidet zu portraitieren. Als besonderes Detail seht Ihr im Hintergrund eine Malerei innerhalb der Malerei.

Demnächst werde ich mich meinerseits von Matthew mit einem Irokesen-Haarschnitt portraitieren lassen...

Matthew is a sophisticated and very established portrait painter from Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He paints people in funny costumes, with mohawks or unclothed. So I decided to paint him unclothed. In the background you can see a painting within the painting as a special detail.

Next I will be painted by Matthew with a mohawk…

Liebe Leserinnen, liebe Leser,

hier seht Ihr ein Portrait von Katarina Kühl. Sie ist eine junge, sehr begabte Illustratorin aus Hamburg. Kostproben ihrer Arbeit gibt´s auf ihrem Blog. Auf ihrem früheren Blog PencilFashion hat sie bevorzugt Stars aus der Medien- und Modewelt portraitiert. Doch in ihren Portraits erscheinen die Stars nicht kühl und unnahbar, sondern Katarina Kühl verleiht ihren Modellen einen ganz besonderen Ausdruck. Einige ihrer bemerkenswerten Portraits gibt es dort im Blog-Archiv.

This is a portrait of Katarina Kühl. She is a young and talented illustrator from Hamburg. You can see some samples of her artworks at her blog. At her earlier blog called PencilFashion she portrayed some stars from the show business. But at her portraits the models don´t appear cool and aloof. Katarina Kühl gives them a very special expression. Some of her remarkable portraits are still shown at the blog archive.

hier seht Ihr Steffi. Steffi´s Blog heißt Steffi´s Welt der Wunder. Ähnlich wie Sylvi testet sie für Euch Produkte aller Art. Steffi scheint ein Mensch mit viel Sonne im Herzen zu sein. Ihr Motto erinnert mich an den Song von Louis Armstrong „What a Wonderful World“.

This is Steffi. Steffi´s blog is called Steffi´s wonderworld (Steffi´s Welt der Wunder). Same as Sylvi she is testing lots of products for you. She´s of a sunny disposition. Her blog title reminds me to Louis Armstrong´s song “What a Wonderful world”.

dies ist das Portrait 2.0.2 und zeigt Nadine. Ich habe Euch bereits erzählt, dass Nadine eine außergewöhnlich kreative Frau ist, die Tools für das Web 2.0 kreiert. Ihr Blog zeigt Kostproben ihres Schaffens, ihrer Fotografien und Designs. Außerdem ist sie Mitglied der Agentur cuckoodesign, die Crossmedia-Konzepte entwickelt. Das Wort cuckoo kann vielfältige Bedeutungen haben. Könnt Ihr ahnen, welche Bedeutung hier gemeint ist?

Her blog shows many samples of her artworks, photographs and designs. Shes is also a member of the cocoodesign agency that develops cross media solutions. The word cuckoo has some different meanings. Do you guess which meaning is meant here?

Portrait 2.0.2 und 2.0.3 – Nadine und Sylvi

Liebe Leserinnen, liebe Leser,

Meine nächsten zwei Kandidatinnen für das Projekt portraits_2null stehen fest: Nadine und Sylvi.

Nadine ist eine außerordentlich kreative Frau, die neben Fotos und Designs auch Tools für das Web 2.0 kreiert. Ihr Blog ist vor allem eine Website, auf der Ihr Kostproben ihres Schaffens betrachten könnt. Ihr seht hier ein kleines Portrait von ihr auf einer Holzpostkarte, das ich 2009 für die Sammlung Hussong anfertigte.

Sylvi hat einen Blog, der sich Vintage-Lifestyle nennt. Der Name ist Programm. Sylvi stellt Produkte im Retro-Look vor, die vor allem Fans der 70er begeistern dürften. Das Portrait, dass ich von ihr machen werde, soll ein postmodernes Madonnenbild werden. Ob es mir wohl gelingen wird?

For the portraits_2null project the next two models are Nadine and Sylvi.

Nadine is an extraordinary creative person. Beside photographs and designs she creates tools for the web 2.0. Her blog is also her website and you can find many samples of her artworks there. What you see here is a portrait of her on a wooden postcard which I created for the Hussong collection in 2009.

Sylvi´s blog is called Vintage-Lifestyle and the title is also her concept. She presents us many retro-style products especially for the Seventies fan base. The portrait of her will be a kind of post-modern madonna. Will I succeed?

Portrait 2.0.1 – Minnja

Liebe Leserinnen, liebe Leser,

es ist nun endlich soweit: Das Portrait 2.0.1 ist vollendet. Es hat eine lange Zeit gebraucht und ich habe es mehrfach überarbeitet. Zwischenzeitlich wusste ich nicht, ob es nur ein Prototyp wird. Ich habe einen Stilbruch vollzogen und bin damit ein Wagnis eingegangen. Doch ich hatte Lust, mich noch einmal neu zu erfinden.

Minnja ist skeptisch über dieses Bild. Ich persönlich halte es für gelungen. Was meint Ihr?

The portrait 2.0.1 is complete. It took a very long time and I did many revisions. From time to time it seemed to become a prototype. This painting is a change in style. That’s tricky. But it was time for a new beginning.

Minnja is very sceptical about this portrait but I think it´s felicitous. What do you think?
